We are WellGrounded

Well Grounded is an award-winning social enterprise, launched in 2016 to support the UK’s unemployed with the skills to access sustainable careers in coffee. We create social change by partnering with the coffee industry to provide opportunities for skilled, passionate and committed individuals to grow.

Our Vision: a society where people are thriving socially and economically in a diverse, dynamic and nurturing coffee community.

What we do

Our programmes empower individuals with the skills to thrive in life, covering technical coffee and hospitality qualifications, employability skills and access to sustainable job opportunities. Our Graduate Program offers further development to help individuals progress in their careers.

Case Study

Despite trying many different training programmes, Zak found that none led to a job. Through our traineeship programme, he completed a paid work placement with an employer partner who supported his development from a barista to assistant supervisor at The Shard.

Today, 4.5 years on, he works as Lead Barista & Training Coordinator at Brew Bar - a cafe at University College London. This cafe is a work placement hub for new Well Grounded trainees. Zak recently came 6th in the UK Barista Championships and is passionate about supporting other people with Autism follow their dreams.
