Access Hospitality responds to concerns about the impact of social distancing with publication of technology solutions eBook for hospitality operators

As concern rises about the impact of possible social distancing measures when hospitality venues can reopen, leading sector technology provider, Access Hospitality, has curated a guide that outlines the technology solutions that could help adherence to some of the guidelines that are likely to be implemented.

Launching the guide, Henry Seddon, Managing Director of Access Hospitality commented “Operators are reimagining and redesigning their venues in anticipation of restrictions being applied when they can reopen and raising serious concerns about their practicality and viability. The message from UK restaurant and bar operators has been loud and clear as many warn that they do not expect their business to survive if social distancing measures have to be in place, so hospitality owners will have to carefully consider all the options available to them to respond to any restrictions.

“There is technology available to provide solutions to immediate challenges such as  booking management and floor plan table layout, as well as less visible issues such as queue management and remote payment solutions. The Access Hospitality social distancing eBook has been developed to pull all of these options together to help operators plan how they can respond to some of the social distancing measures implemented and provide reassurance that they have all bases covered to help them return to profitability.”

The guide is the latest in a series of assistance measures provided by Access Hospitality aimed at supporting hospitality operators through the uncertainty generated by lockdown and lack of clarity about reopening. The company has provided two months free access and 48 hr set up for delivery/ click and collect capability websites, voucher capacity on DesignMyNight, the launch of the DeliverMyNight delivery listings website and a comprehensive guide to getting operational when it is deemed safe to do so.

“Hospitality has been hit particularly hard by lockdown” continued Henry Seddon “with financial pressures and the uncertainty around when, and how, it might reopen for business continuing to generate huge concern across the sector. Access Hospitality is working with operators to provide as much support as possible and this guide to social distancing aims to answer some of the many questions they have as to whether their business can return a profit if the measures that are being deliberated are implemented.

“Many operators feel it may be impossible to implement social distancing measures, so everyone is conscious that re-opening under restrictions isn’t as straightforward as it sounds. But technology aids are available to minimise the impact that restrictions could have on levels of trade, cashflow and profit. The Access Hospitality eBook reviews some of the options that are available across the whole sector and ensures that business owners are able to consider every angle objectively to make their operation as efficient and safe as possible in the new trading environment.”

The guide includes sections on bookings, automated call systems, pre-order, order and pay at table, table layouts, staggered arrivals, payment tools, virtual queuing, events, marketing, takeaways and deliveries.
