Every coffee has a story
It’s grown on far-flung farms in exotic locations, far removed from the hustle and bustle of your neighbourhood coffeeshop. It’s grown, tended to and nurtured by men and women who’ve dedicated their lives to the practice - perfecting the art over generations, using skills handed down from parents and grandparents - ultimately reaching your customers’ cup.
Sadly, these stories rarely leave the farm. The majority of coffee in the UK is a commodity - like coal or sugar - traded on markets, with endless middlemen dipping into the farmers pockets. By the time the coffee reaches the drinkers, it’s changed hands dozens of times, the farmers’ profits have been slashed and their hard work is soon forgotten. Here at Pact Coffee, we think that stinks. The coffee industry is broken and has been for a long time. We’re on a mission to fix it.
We’re proud to be pioneers in Direct Trade - the practice of going to origin, meeting and building relationships with farmers and paying them a fair price for their coffee. By trading this way, we’re able to pay farmers on average 65% above the Fairtrade base price - allowing them to improve practices, invest in themselves and their communities. Direct Trade and Fairtrade are often confused, but in reality, they couldn’t be more different. A lot of the time, a farmer doesn’t even break even when paid the Fairtrade base price. Our Direct Trade model exists to help producers thrive, not just survive.
For businesses, we offer a full and comprehensive solution for serving the best coffee imaginable. All the hard work that comes before a cup of Pact Coffee is served to a customer is evident from that first sip. Our coffees are roasted with consideration, not burnt to a crisp, letting all those wonderful taste notes do the talking. We offer a range of core espresso roasts, like our Bourbon Cream Espresso, as well as endless guest coffee options for your espresso machine and filter bar. Businesses serving Pact can be confident in their offering, knowing that our expert team of coffee connoisseurs are on hand to train teams, share key information about the coffees being served and answer any and all questions they may have.
Like most industries, coffee is a fast–moving, innovative one. We’re proud to be at the forefront of that innovation, ensuring our product meets the demands of our customers, whether that be by switching to easily recyclable packaging, introducing a new self serve sign-up system for small and medium businesses or, excitingly, relaunching our Nespresso compatible pod range to deliver the perfect dose of Pact Coffee, at the click of a button. Perfect for hotel rooms!
