Swansea Coffee Shop sells coffee with Shots of Cannabis Oil

Bogarts CBD Coffee House, in Swansea, Wales, is adding shots of CBD oil to favourites such as camomile tea, hot chocolate and even pumpkin spice lattes.

This is one of a growing number of businesses selling the legal product. The coffee shop’s customers have found that the product actually helps them to improve their health conditions, both mental - like depression and anxiety - and physical - like arthritis.

The shop attracts customers both young and old, with younger people tending to use the product for anxiety, stress or depression, while older people use it more for finding relief to physical pains like arthritis or fibromyalgia.

Differently to cannabis, CBD, a non-psychoactive chemical compound found in the marijuana plant, doesn’t disrupt the central nervous system because it doesn’t contain tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the other key compound in cannabis which causes users to get high. This means that the product contained in this coffee (oil and extracts of CBD) will not lead to changes in mood and perception like a recreational use of marijuana does. Instead, it can cause benefits in terms of relief from physical pains, inflammations and anxiety or depression.
